Economy

It looks as if I'll be out of the country for about ten days beginning this weekend. So if anybody's looking for me, I'll answer emails and calls when I get back.

In the meantime, all the reports coming out today are very positive indeed! Home sales during the month of March were the best in twelve years, although the prices didn't go up (these are national averages of course). If we can just keep Mohammed out of our skyscrapers and nuclear plants, we'll be fine.

Talk to you when I get back.

Saturday

It's Saturday morning, and I'm pretty tired. Overslept. But I'm gonna go get my daily workout anyway. On those few occasions when I have to miss, for whatever reason (illness, schedule, etc) my workout, I feel "drugged"..... lack of aeration and exertion.

But we finally worked through all the difficulties of closing of escrow for a new, very exclusive development here in Tyler. It was a fourteen month endeavor of love for my customers; but we got it done. The last few days were very intense and rather exhausting. The "devil" is in the details, isn't it?

Anyway, the new development is going to happen! And it promises to rival, and exceed, all the other gorgeous homes and areas of Tyler in its beauty and serenity and exclusivity. If you're interested in learning more, please click on my website and take a look. Email me for more info.

Freedom

We have been given this great privilege of living in a country in which we may live almost any place we choose (given our ability to pay, of course). Some wish to live amongst many; others choose to live in a more secluded place.

There are no absolutely unrestricted rights; but the right to own property and live the lifestyle that suits us should be seen as "pretty close" to unrestricted (as long as others are left to the same rights and privileges).

For those who wish to live with a high degree of privacy and security and exclusivity, the new estate development in Tyler, Texas passes all those tests - and more. For all of those who wish to exercise their freedom to choose this exclusive lifestyle, please contact me right away. This one's for you!

NEW WAVE

Those who have finished up their taxes have already started searching for properties to buy. The heavy spring activity is kicking in. Usually we don't see this kind of activity until after April 15th, but apparently some are finishing up early; or at least already know how much disposable income they have available. Rental property is heavily in demand, as well as lakefront property. Having some trouble keeping all of them satisfied! We don't have much available, so peeps need to call me if they're ready to sell.

GOOD BUSINESS

The Wall Street Journal Opinion Journal had a fabulous article today about a new republican mayor. His city is Anaheim California. The economic state of the city was a shambles.... much like many other cities in which planning and zoning commissions and city councils micromanage their cities with over-regulation and political correctness.

This mayor, Kurt Pringle is his name, has managed to overturn much of the over-regulation imposed by former government officials, thereby freeing entrepeneurs from the stifling fees and taxes and weighty regulations. And - VOILA! - Guess what? Anaheim is just booming again with 2000 new businesses and a renewed housing market and almost NO whining from the liberal tax-and-spend, politically correct crowd! Go figure.

Cool-down?

Based on the January market reports, the national association of realtors is predicting a 5% reduction in the sales of new and existing homes this year. That's for the entire nation, of course. Some markets won't see that; and some will see more than that.

Buyers will have more choices and can expect a little better price. Those who wish to sell will need to "stage" their homes to attract offers. Cleaning and painting and landscaping will be important, rather than leaving a home "as is". Realtors will need to get busy and see to it that their listings are bright and pretty!
