MORE OPTIMISM?

With five straight days of the Dow in the "black", folks are looking optimistic. Roads, malls, restaurants and individual stores are just mobbed and choked here in Tyler, Texas. And since we really haven't been hit very hard by the downturn, it probably would've been that way anyway!

All of that doesn't discount the probability that our money is being degraded to a terrible degree. And if I'm right, then three to six months from now your money won't be worth near as much as it is right now. So, my advice to all who have cash: buy your property! NEW NUMBERS

The sales of existing homes during October were off by 3.5%. That's a big number. So the problems are still with us. Sales of new homes was also down significantly. But the problem is mostly fear. Our government has scared everyone into inaction. I, myself, have reduced my spending on non-essential items; but, you see, there is a huge pent-up demand for housing. Folks want to upgrade; others wish to downgrade. New buyers want to come to the market. But they're scared. When it loosens, there will be a stampede to buy the best available properties. However, right now..... while sellers are more apt to reduce their demands..... is the best time to buy - especially in Tyler and East Texas - and especially if you have cash to invest in something solid and lasting. Expendable items and commodities are purchased, and then they're gone - used up. Real property, on the other hand, builds estates and value.

NEWNESS

We have a new president to be installed on January 20th 2009. Pray for him, as I've already done in the early morning hours of Sunday Nov. 9th. We need to honor him, for God has put him where he is. Like all of us, he must repent of evil and do what is good and right before God - Father, Son and Spirit.

The nation is in deep trouble. And doing righteousness, and being faithful, is the basis for our coming out of the mess we're in. It may take years to turn this once-great nation around again. But one thing is certain (should our money deflate and be worth little): real property doesn't deflate! Ten acres will be ten acres next year!
